Abstract:The Shruti Mandalam is a new musical instrument that draws inspiration from the shruti theory described in the Bharata Muni’s Natyashastra. The Shruti-Nidarshanam experiment as described in Bharata Muni’s Natyashastra can be performed on Shruti Mandalam instrument and is also capable of performing a different version of the same experiment as described by Sharangadeva. Shruti Mandalam can also be played as an independent musical instrument to perform Raga Music.
